Love God. Love your neighbor as yourself. Hosanna strives to embody these commands as reflected in our mission statement: Serving God. Changing Lives. Hosanna has been my church for over 40 years. There are no strangers at Hosanna. The Congregation is, and always has been, welcoming to everyone. Hosanna emphasizes worshiping God. I’ve attended many services at other denominational churches and at non-denominational Bible churches. None of them provides the worship fulfillment that I receive at Hosanna. Families worship together. Children stay with their parents during the worship service. They are invited to the front to receive a children’s message from the Pastor. The bonds developed between the children and the Pastor are obvious. The congregation becomes part of worship through the liturgy, reading of the lessons, distributing Communion, passing the Peace of God among the congregation, and singing. Each worship service is built around the common messages of related texts selected from the Old Testament, the Gospels, and the Epistles. Hosanna is a singing congregation. We sing traditional hymns that reinforce the messages of the biblical texts for the day. Some of us even sing harmony. The community in which Hosanna is planted is transitioning to a mixed ethnic neighborhood. One of Hosanna’s goals is to expand our ministries to this neighborhood.
