Serving God, Changing Lives

Citizenship Workshop

On Sat., Sept. 28, Hosanna Lutheran Church will once again host a Citizenship Workshop in partnership with Bonding Against Adversity, a local non-profit. This is a community-wide effort helping legal permanent residents to complete the extensive paperwork involved in applying for U.S. citizenship. We need volunteers who are trained to help with the paperwork, and we also need donations of food for the breakfast and lunch served to volunteers. Please sign up in the narthex to help with paperwork, set-up or clean-up, or to donate food. For more information contact Nancy Agafitei.

On the day of the event, arrive at 8:00am for a light breakfast. Training begins at 8:30am. If you have already had training, you can come at 9:30am to begin assisting applicants. Volunteers do not need special knowledge. You only need to be a good listener and be able to fill in forms. Attorneys, immigration specialists, and translation help will be available to handle any unusual needs. The workshop ends about 1:00pm, with lunch afterwards.
